What it is
You are a force, not a king
Vonkelveld — Afrikaans for spark field — is a god-sim in which every light scattered across the dark veld is a simulated life. You cannot order anyone to do anything. You shape conditions: raise land and sink it, call the rain, warm the air, bless the ground, bring ruin. Then time runs, and the people decide for themselves where to settle, when to flee, and who to follow.
Fall from a god's eye to a single life
Pull back and hearth-lights bloom into villages, then cities with real streets. Zoom out further and the map closes into a torus. Dive the other way and follow one person through their whole life — their family, their needs, their death.
Ask why, and get the truth
Point at any place and ask why here. The game answers with the actual causal chain that produced it, traced back through the years — your acts, the climate, migration, collapse, chance. Not flavour text.
Deterministic to the byte
A world is nothing but a seed plus your choices. Send someone your seed and they play the byte-identical world, so the gap between two players is skill and not luck.
Drawn from nothing but arithmetic
The map, the weather, the day and night, every sound — all generated at runtime from hand-authored primitive recipes. No stock art. No AI-generated imagery. A world that looks and sounds like only itself.
The worlds
Eleven of them, each with its own doom
The cold, the flood, the fire — each scenario's pressure is different, so each plays completely differently. A perfect world is not promised. Skill is what your hand preserves, and what it learns to let go.
